Face Time

As a total make-up junkie, I thought I’d share one of my favorite products with y’all, along with two new finds.

Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer has been my go-to make-up product for the past two years. It is lightweight and doesn’t cake, like other foundations, but still provides enough coverage for breakouts and blemishes. I wear it every day and highly recommend it to all my friends. Even though it is a little pricey at $42, it is worth every penny and lasts for months. I haven’t found any other tinted moisturizer that I liked half as much.

I found the two new products in an unlikely place: Target. For the past few weeks I have been on the hunt for a matte lip pencil in a bright red. However, I wasn’t sure how this product would look on me, so I was hesitant to spend $24 on the NARS version. So imagine my delight when at Target I stumbled upon a bright red matte lip pencil made my Sonia Kashuk for only $7.99. Victory! It is easy to apply and doesn’t dry your lips. It’s a great way to try out the matte trend without investing too much money.

Another Sonia Kashuk find was her Brightening Powder. I had read reviews online comparing it to Laura Mercier’s more expensive version, so I decided to try it. It’s a white, somewhat shimmery powder that is applied to the face with a fluffy brush (I don’t recommend using the one included). I applied it along my nose, the top of my cheekbones, and my forehead. It really did provide a brightening affect without being too glittery or shiny. It also soaked up excess oil. At only $9.99, it’s a steal!
